Me, all about me. I love music. I love to sing, but I have a terrible voice. I love to play guitar, but I'm not that good. My heroes are those who can, and do it well. There's too many to mention, so I won't.
After going to see the late great Greg Trooper, and not exactly knowing what the hell a house concert was, I hit the lottery. Seeing one of my favorites, in someone's living room, on a Sunday afternoon, getting the chance to chat with him, and be completely entertained, in an intimate setting. Driving home, I figured I could host, so reaching out to Greg, setting up our first show, the rest is history.
I only wish the venture could actually be a business, since everyone wishes they could do something they love to do, for work. While the few shows we put on are a fair amount of work, we love doing them, just for the fun of it all. All money collected, 100%....goes to the artist. The toughest part about the whole project, was convincing my wife to be on board. At first, the question was, "you wanna do what? You wanna open our house to strangers, and have someone play live music here?" The answer was, absolutely. Remember, when two strangers meet, they're no longer strangers. They might be strange, but at least now they know each other. Since the very first show, Janet is completely on board. Still she only wants to do the two per year that we do. My hopes are to do smaller scale shows, on an occasional Sunday, with lesser known artists. Less furniture moving, no pressure.
If you've read this far, thanks. if you haven't been to one of our shows, and you're a fan of live music, you're missing out. Check us out, reach out, and make it to the next one, but don't wait......SEATING IS LIMITED.
